Last Outpost

I don’t know if I have posted or not but I will do it again.  Last outpost was crap when I first started.  I didn’t understand nor could I follow along.  The skills it takes to play a mud is much different than just typing and reading.  I am not a fast reader nor a fast typer.  Needless to say… the mud has improved that.  The typing skills are a lot of the home keys.  Not a lot of odd letters like z or q.  There are some but not a lot.  It does make you use the ‘ tic marks when casting spells.  Reading ability improves with getting use to the game.  You realize you dont’ have to read every single word but can pick up on things like “That really HURT” or bleeding heavily gives you an indication that you need to pay more attention.  This game can be used for all of types of reading comprehension and typing skills.  But the only down fall is that students these days are used to graphic and bells/ whistles.   It would take ‘making’ them play it to get good at it.
